My current practice investigates the alchemical capabilities of natural dyes. Whilst my work draws upon both scientific and traditional approaches to create impressions on fabrics, paper and wood, the process also involves a component of uncertainty or even magic. Whether it is a defined photo-like leaf print or an abstract expressive stain, these images speak of landscape and place. It is through the process of dyeing involving complex interactions and reactions between diverse materials that the works are created.
