Coming from a lineage of female craft practitioners, it was natural for me to develop an artistic practice focused on textiles. I enjoy the challenges and rewards that come from learning traditional making processes and experimenting with different ways to use these skills to create contemporary works of art. Through my art practice I am able to combine my interests in history and learning with my drive to create. Experimentation is an important element in my art making process: it is out of playing with different materials and learning different skills that my ideas for projects emerge.
